In the well-known scientific online library Cochrane Library published a review suggesting a positive effect of yoga on the quality of life of patients with bronchial asthma, as well as improvement in symptoms of the disease due to regular classes.
There were 15 studies involving 1,048 men and women that looked at whether yoga could help relieve asthma attacks. Most participants had mild to moderate asthma for six months to 23 years. Part of the research was conducted to evaluate the effect of breathing exercises, other studies helped to study the effect of breathing exercises, postures and meditation. However, the majority of participants continued to take medication during the studies, which lasted from 2 weeks to 4 years.
Summarizing the results of the work, the scientists found that regular exercise with this type of exercise can improve the quality of life of asthmatics and even alleviate the symptoms of the disease to a certain level. However, it is noted that the effect on lung function and medication use is still uncertain. Evidence of the beneficial effects of yoga in asthma requires large studies of adequate quality.

Greening cities reduces the risk of asthma

Residents of areas with lots of green trees are less likely to develop diseases such as asthma, diabetes and hypertension, according to a US study.
In the process of work, data on mortality for 2010-2011 were analyzed . It turned out that problems due to chronic diseases were less likely to bother those people who lived near the green zone – square, park. The air in these places is cleaned by trees in the process of processing carbon dioxide. For those who live in the center of the metropolis, it is more difficult to find housing in the neighborhood with trees. Doctors advise paying attention to the proximity of green areas when choosing a place to live.

Commentary: If conditions allow, you can independently plant trees near the house, making your personal contribution to the state of the environment.
